I think every women feels insecure about their looks. We are all good actresses when it comes to being confident about our careers, love lives, and relationsips with others. When it comes to our looks, simply acting young is not good enough. We must look the part. It helps a great deal to have money as we all know the magic of plastic surgery. Most women cringe at the idea of plastic surgery but a majority of us have come to embrace botox. I have been obsessed with beauty products since the age of thirteen, when I bought my first Clinique powder and their 3-step skin care system.  I still believe their line works great for young skin.  Since then, I have tried a plethora of brands and products and I have come to the conclusive thus far, that La Prairie is the best.  Their prices are high and their portions are small, but I have noticed dramatic results…mostly countless people around me telling me how much better my skin looks.  There are a lot of Cream de La Mer fans out there.  I don’t rule them out.  I always keep a jar handy at home.  It’s a great moisturizer for dry skin. Perhaps that’s why they have a Gel de La Mer but anyhoo, I love the Cream de La Mer for winters and when I travel (my skin gets dry and irritated to climate changes). Just to preace, I have very irritable normal/combination skin.  Currently, I cannot live without the La Prairie Cellular Hydrating Serum  ($170) (smooths and exfoliates daily), La Prairie Cellular Retexturizing Booster  ($170) (feels like putting on water but super hydrating), and the La Prairie Skin Caviar Luxe Eye Lift Cream  ($275).  I also use the La Praire Foam Cleanser  ($70).  On a weekly basis, I use the clay mask by Borghese (it’s becoming hard to find as their brand has dwindled…I stocked up) and the Amore Pacific Treatment Enzyme Peel  ($60) (super gentle, smooths skin and clarifies). These are products I must use regularly.  The last time I revaluated my budget and dropped my chin at how much good skincare was costing me, I tried to use the drug store brands or even decent department store brands like Lancome and Shiseido. But then my skin started to look bad…I mean bad. I have come to accept my need for expensive skincare…they are my drugs for beauty.  If you like to save on skincare, the only thing I would seriously recommend is the La Prairie eye creams.  They do a fantastic job (I don’t have any wrinkles under my eyes) and one jar can last afew months if used sparingly.

Here’s the new product I have been wanting…it re-firms, re-plumps, and re-ignities (the advertising keywords sucking away the wallets of women everywhere who can fork out the dough).  This Skin Caviar Crystalline Concentre  is on the top of my list at $375.  It’s made with diamonds, crystals, and other goodies.  I have never bee disappointed with La Prairie before. 

For those who want a simple skincare regimen and need some moisturizing, try Creme de la Mer …it’s an all time rockstar.

PS – Don’t waste any time trying to find better prices, it’s the same everywhere.  These brands are only available at high end department stores (try Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, and Saks).
